When we have sufficient support, life’s many challenges can become opportunities for learning, growth, and a greater connection with others.

When I was struggling to come to terms with my sexuality, I did not imagine that such a difficult process could become a source of strength and pride as well as an opportunity to question other limiting ideas and beliefs. Similarly, the therapeutic process offers us the potential to transform and grow, which has been my experience both as therapist and the person seeking support.

My therapeutic approach incorporates awareness-building, cultivating compassion, and providing a space that allows for exploring new ways of being. These elements empower individuals to take ownership of how they choose to create their lives and to find greater wellbeing and fulfillment.

We often do not realize that habits and behaviors that cause us to feel stuck were necessary tools for survival at some point in our lives. Understanding such patterns is an important step. Increased awareness of our feelings, how we talk to ourselves, and how we relate to life’s challenges leads to the clarity we need to make choices that are more in line with how we want to live now.

I have completed intensive training in Gestalt Therapy (a holistic, present-centered, and relationship-focused approach), Developmental Somatic Psychotherapy (a movement-based approach), and Contemplative Psychotherapy, which integrates mindfulness and compassion practices from Buddhist psychology.

I work with a diverse group of clients with a range of mental health concerns and challenging life circumstances, including related to depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, gender identity, relationship difficulties, family conflict, low self-esteem/feelings of unworthiness, career dissatisfaction, and career challenges in the arts.

I work actively and collaboratively and see both individuals and couples. The work I do with couples is focused on fostering authentic communication and greater understand- ing and respect of each individual’s unique needs and with an invitation to each partner to take responsibility for making the relationship successful.

I welcome you to contact me to set up a consultation so we may begin to address whatever concerns bring you here today.

“It was great! Chris made realize something I always had in me.”
