Healing can be a profoundly satisfying and yet also difficult process. In life we can accumulate wounds from our childhood, from our past relationships, and even from our relationship with ourselves. These scars can make us feel lonely, defeated, and overwhelmed. Therapy involves mending these scars of our past.
I specialize in work with men. As males, we frequently try to “fix” situations. But fixing can leave us stuck when it doesn’t address the deeper emotions. I collaborate with you to identify obstacles that prevent you from becoming your best self. Together we will identify the distinctive traits that make you who you are, learn how to regain and maintain balance in your personal and professional life, and identify healthy methods to help you relate to yourself and the people you care about most.
I offer individual and couples therapy. I enjoy using a variety of treatment modalities and evidence-based techniques, including Solution-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).
I am a proud same-gender loving Black male. I have a Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology from Mt. St. Mary’s University in Los Angeles and I am completing my Ph.D. in Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco. Growing up in a spiritual house has taught me the role that spirituality and culture can play in informing our identities and relationships.
I believe in the transforming power of the relationship between therapist and client. I’m committed to assisting you as you take the next steps in your growth.
