Growing up gay in Austin, Texas did not provide me with the safety I needed to build self-esteem or realize my dreams. So I can relate to your struggles.
I have years of experience working with the LGBTQ community. Some of my areas of expertise are substance abuse and recovery, improving self-esteem, and reducing anxiety and depression.
I also work with many couples on issues of communication, honesty, and accepting differences. In relationships it is just as important to understand as it is to be understood, and I can help you and your partner learn that important relationship skill.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked in the movie business and believe I am qualified to help you manage the high-stress and unrealistic workloads typical of that industry.
I believe I am a good therapist, in part, because I am astute at sensing what others are thinking and feeling. I am empathic and will always focus on you and your needs. It’s no secret that I am also a dog lover. I have learned a lot from my dogs about overcoming fears, not holding grudges, accepting yourself, and the importance of enjoying the journey.
It is an honor and a privilege to be in this field and I look forward to working with you on your personal journey of self-improvement.
