Gay Therapy Center—Oakland (new)

My aim as a psychologist is to help you achieve your goals and experience a greater sense of connection and stability in your interpersonal relationships.

I am especially interested in helping the Queer community heal from the internalized oppression that so many of us experience.  My doctoral research at Alliant International University/California School of Professional Psychology, focused on internalized biphobia. You can read more about my thinking on bisexuality here.

For many years I worked at Kaiser Permanente in the Adult Chemical Dependency Department. I enjoy working with individuals who struggle with substance abuse and I utilize both harm reduction and abstinence approaches in my practice.

I integrate mindfulness techniques into therapy, which is a powerful way to reduce anxiety and assist in recovery from addiction. I’ve completed a certification in Mindfulness and Compassion at the California Institute of Integral Studies.

My primary approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Therapy.  I am kink-affirming, poly-friendly, and I specialize in working with transgender and gender non-conforming clients.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy meditation, yoga & cooking.
