There comes a time when we need someone we can talk to. When I came out during my late teens the world was a hostile place to be gay. I remember how profoundly I was touched when I began working with a therapist who helped create a safe environment where I could talk and finally begin to understand what troubled me and what I could do to improve my life.
If you are suffering from fear and anxiety, or if you have trouble getting close to others, I can help you. Many people develop patterns that at one time may have made sense, but now block them from being happy and fulfilled. I will help you explore what is not working in your life, what you need to accept so you can move on, and what you can begin to change.
Every person has needs and desires. I can help you identify and listen to those parts of you, because they are clues to what will help you become the person you were meant to be.
My previous employment in the corporate world taught me a lot about managing work stress and navigating office politics. I’ve been a licensed psychotherapist over 20 years and in addition to working with clients at the Gay Therapy Center, I teach interns the art and science of psychotherapy.
