Pronouns: He, Him
As a therapist I strive to provide insightful and challenging interventions to help clients understand themselves and their relationships with others. I can show you how to be more curious, reflective and compassionate with life’s moments, and to engage in the present rather than dwelling in the past, or projecting onto the future.
I help my clients become familiar with the most authentic parts of their selves. When we operate from a place of authenticity, we are more capable of making healthy and rewarding life decisions.
As a former member of the LDS Mormon faith, I know what it is like to grow up in a community that is antithetical to the LGBT experience. It has been incredibly rewarding helping so many clients move past low self-worth to a place of self-love and acceptance. You can read an interview with me on this topic here.
I received my Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from New York University and have worked as a psychotherapist at California Hospital Medical Center and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. I have specialized training in helping people with issues of sexuality and sexual dysfunction.
I am passionate about human interaction and intimate relationships, and I love working with couples. I help couples learn to become good communicators, and I have considerable experience helping them navigate the challenges of healthy open relationships.
Starting therapy takes courage. I make every effort to help you feel safe in a way that opens you up to new possibilities, and to support you in creating a life that is deeply engaged and satisfying.
