We all experience problems in our own unique way. Overwhelming feelings, sabotaging behaviors, addictions, and unhealthy relationship patterns can prevent us from discovering our potential for a life rich with joy, meaning, and love. You’re not alone. I’m here to support you as we explore what’s working in your life, what isn’t, and build a solid foundation that will help you discover yourself and achieve the life and relationships you want.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, I was an entertainment attorney. I saw the extremes of conflict and realized I’d rather help people heal than fight.
Now, my mission is to help heal the wounds in our LGBTQ community. I write articles about issues like sexual empowerment, HIV, and recovery from addictions. I advocate a sex-positive message and respect non-traditional sexualities, relationships, and identities.
My areas of expertise include:
- LGBTQ individuals and couples
- Sex, love, and intimacy
- Safely exploring non-monogamy
- HIV and PrEP
- Addictions and compulsive behaviors
- Personal growth
- Heartbreak and loss
- Depression / anxiety
- Spirituality and mindfulness
I graduated with honors from Northwestern University with a double major in psychology and communications. After college, I earned a J.D. with honors from the UCLA School of Law and practiced law for four years. Feeling a pull back to my true calling, I went back to graduate school and completed a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Depth Psychology.
I’ve been fortunate to develop my skills in a variety of clinical and academic settings. I’ve trained as a clinician in private practice, drug rehab facilities, and community mental health centers. I have supplemented my schooling with formal training programs in sex and love addictions, dream analysis, art therapy, meditation, and men’s issues. I constantly challenge myself as a therapist by attending workshops and conferences.
I welcome you to contact me so we can begin moving towards your goals.
