Pronouns He, Him
LGBTQ people have been stigmatized, hospitalized, incarcerated, and endured “conversion therapy.” We often navigate challenging family situations due to prejudice and lack of knowledge. Sometimes it is exhausting, and perhaps overwhelming at times. We may long for profound change for a happier and healthier life.
And yet we also continue to cope, grow, succeed and even thrive.
Therapy is a process of healing, insight and learning new coping tools and strategies. I have a holistic and highly interactive approach. Cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and self-reflection are important aspects of the work with me. I aim to be motivational and hopefully, at times, inspirational.
This is a connective process.
I have always enjoyed working with individuals as well couples. I was an actor in a prior life. This has afforded me the opportunity to work with creativity and laughter as well as moments of sorrow. I studied at the Hunter School of Social Work, and have deep experience working with people with HIV, substance abuse issues, co-dependency, and trauma.
I support enhanced independence and meaningful connections with others.
